My favorite read-alouds #7 “Llama llama red pajama”

As Elanor is getting older and responding to the world around her, reading has become more entertaining.

I recently read her “Llama llama red pajama” by Anna Dewdney for the first time in quite a while.  We’ve been steering clear of “paper page” books as Elanor tends to love her board books to pieces…the paper books didn’t stand a chance.  But we’re slowly re-introducing them, and Llama llama has quickly become a favorite of Elanor’s.

We’re reaching a point where she interacts with the story that’s being read.  So when we read llama llama, on the lines the end in Mama…I pause and let her say it.  We’re starting to be able to have discussions about what’s happening on the page, as well.

There are actually 3 other books about baby llama…Llama Llama Misses Mama, Llama Llama Mad at Mama, and Llama Llama Holiday Drama.  E is a big fan of all 3, but the pajama book remains her favorite.
